A bar area was added with a mirrored backsplash to reflect the Miami Beach sunrise and sunsets. The dark cabinets in the Before photo were replaced with white high-gloss cabinetry, and the ceilings were raised from 8 to 9 1/2 feet. The result was a kitchen with a clean, bright streamlined appearance that makes it appear larger, less crowded and more inviting.

Art Deco South Florida Vibes
This 1927 Art Deco Florida kitchen was a gut renovation. New Miele appliances with a streamlined design were installed with custom white lacquer cabinetry and granite countertops with a glass backsplash with a mosaic design. New windows and air conditioning completed the renovation and complement the original 1920’s art deco fixtures and glass wall. Kevin sourced a rare 1930s art deco Cuban mahogany starburst table with a polished steel base and a pair of 1930s chrome dining chairs upholstered in white leatherette. The Before photo shows a dark cramped kitchen, while the After photo demonstrates how the same footprint with strategic restoration and design can transform a space into a light, airy welcoming room.
