After, Kevin Gray graduated from Parson School of Design, Paris France, set up a Design Studio in Paris and designed Lamps and furniture. In 1982, Kevin created the Zandt lamp in 3 sizes, Desk, Floor Reading, and Floor Torchère. The Zandt Lamp was named after his Dutch Grandfather, Emilio Van Zandt. The Zandt Desk Lamp is now in production, and the Zandt reading lamp and Zandt floor Torchère are currently in the prototype stage

Kevin continued working in Paris, Hamburg, and Milano through the mid-’90s, designing lighting, furniture, and custom interiors for his clientele in Europe and the United States.

Kevin returned to LIGHTINUP Studio, Palazzo, Padova, Italy in July 2022 to witness the first Zandt Lamp prototype come to fruition. Kevin is honored to present the advancement in Italian technology that preserves the Zandt Lamp the unique design of its kind. The Zandt Lamp will be exhibited at SALONE DEL MOBILE 2023. From the Research and Design Studio at LIGHTINUP, Palazzo, Padova, Italy, we witnessed the ZANDT LAMP come to fruition. Below you can see how the lamp’s shade rotates so that you can have a dynamic choice of angles to shine or bounce the light. The Zandt Lamp will be exhibited at SALONE DEL MOBILE 2023.

A few years ago, ⁣while antique shopping in Miami, Kevin came across one of his Zandt reading lamp at MODERN EPIC ANTIQUES, and was surprised the price tag was four times the original price it sold for in the 1980s and purchased. Recently, Dan’s Den, Los Angeles, sold the same reading Lamp for $1,200.
