This NYC co-op was built in the 1960s – and the kitchen was original! My client called and wanted a new kitchen as she is now working from home. With safety as a top priority, today more people are cooking and eating at home, and kitchens are the center of family life more than ever. More of my clients find themselves working at home and want a kitchen remodel, as it’s the safest place to be!
Kitchens are the heart of the home more than ever. We will be spending more time in our home for months to come. Now is a smart time to create your dream home – an investment in making your home beautiful, safe and functional will make your home a safe retreat for your family to live, work and entertain.
Before & After: A 1960s NYC Kitchen Remodel
Hannah’s New York City kitchen was small in size but big in design potential. We designed the kitchen with eco-friendly wood laminate on the lower cabinets with recycled countertops in terrazzo. We specified upper cabinetry in eco-friendly white laminate and new concrete porcelain tile floors thorough the apartment.
We placed a Saarinen Tulip table along with a Louis Poulsen pendant fixture in the breakfast room, adjacent to a feature wall of light blue glass tiles that reflect light from the window overlooking Manhattan.
I have been enjoying my kitchen for a few years now, thanks to the talented design by my friend and designer, Kevin Gray! It is quite a transformation from the 1960s old kitchen to a sleek, modern, practical and elegant design. And, it was on budget!
Thank you, Kevin!
